The Sixth Seal signifies a great earthquake that will be felt worldwide. The speed of rotation of the Earth along its current North-South axis will be increased, and a new direction of rotation along an 'East-West' axis will begin. To those for whom it is nighttime when this happens, the stars will appear to rush to the horizon. For those for whom it is daytime when this happens, the sun will appear to fall to the horizon. Because the Sun and the stars will set in unexpected directions, the sky will appear to have 'fallen'.The violence of the earthquake will level all the works of man. Mountains will crumble, rivers flood, fires will break out. The sky will be covered in a thick haze of smoke and dust. The oceans will surge, flooding all islands, and lowlands by the shores.
The whole face of the Earth will be changed. The new rotations will cause polar ice to melt. The temperature throughout the Earth will be equalized to that of an eternal spring, as the new spin will allow for even heating of the entire surface.
Fields and flatlands will yawn open with cracks. All the plates of the Earth's crust will shift, moving away from each other as the Earth expands in size. Volcanoes will boil away in the depth of the sea and along the seams of the Earth's crust.
People will seek refuge from flooding in the heights, and from hail and lightning and flying debris in caves and underground shelters. Many will even hope to die, but death will not come unless and until the Lord wills it.
The angels of the Lord will control the destruction and look after those who are deserving and protect them from serious harm. Many will be chosen from the tribes of Israel, but not all as the number is clearly limited. This is not to say that the number given is a precise count, but that only so many are admitted. Added to their number will be many Christians from all nations of the Earth.These will be admitted into paradise and will live a life of comfort and ease.
