Prayer for God's Justice

O heavenly Father, we have sinned.  We have given the Devil his day in the Sun and now we are as children playing with matches, involved in dangerous games that we can not stop. We now appeal to you for your help, not to test you, for it is written "thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" (Deuteronomy 6:16), but because we are in dire need and we know your strength.

Christ said, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, Mark 11:24, Luke 11:9, John 14:13).  We are now beating at your door like the persistent neighbor (Luke 11:5-8) for we have seen enough of the innocent suffer.

We have tried our faith singly, and each of us has found himself lacking. Today we pray together in the hope that our combined faith may amount to a mustard seed's worth. Amen.
